Hi Everybody!
You may remember me from past Kickstarter projects such as the "2017 Edition Metropol Playing Cards". As a backer of one of my past projects, I thought you might be interested to know that I launched a new deck today titled Metropol NEXT.
The Metropol NEXT deck features some familiar design elements such as strong colours, and bold linework but I'm taking things in a new direction with this release.

NEW PROJECT - Handcrafted Exotic Wood Pens

Hey Backers!
I wanted to let you know about a new project I just launched today. It's not at all related to playing cards (but my next update will be), so if that doesn't interest you then feel free to ignore the rest. :) This is the only non-Metropol Playing Cards update I'll be sending out.
A couple of years ago I started a wood workshop and have been using it as an excuse to get up and away from my desk as much as possible. About a year ago I started making pens in my shop (mostly as gifts for friends and family) but I'm now at a level where I want to start selling them. For this project I'm working with 4 different styles of pens and if you back the project you'll get to choose which style you want, along with the metal finish, and the wood the pen is made from. Totally custom, one-of-a-kind, made for you.

Good news everyone!
As of Friday afternoon, all the Kickstarter orders have been shipped out! This past week was an intense mix of packing / shipping cards and my new fatherly duties. I don't know which of the two was more demanding :D
I've already received more than a few messages from some very excited backers whose cards have already arrived. The bulk of the packages were sent between Wednesday and Friday.
Canada - Typically only take a couple of days
United States - 4-8 business days
International - Usually around 2 weeks, though I've already heard from a couple overseas backers that have received their cards. The further from Canada, the longer the shipment may take. As well, some smaller / more remote countries might take a little longer well.
If your order was large enough to include a tracking number you will have received an email from BackerKit with the tracking details.
So, all of the playing cards have been shipped, but unfortunately the uncut sheets didn't arrive with the original shipment of the decks. I've reached out to Legends Playing Cards for an update on where the sheets are. For anyone that had an uncut sheet as part of their order, you'll be receiving your cards first and the sheets as soon as they become available.
As the decks start arriving, I'd love to hear your feedback! If you want to share them online please use any of the following hashtags. I'll be watching for them and sharing some of my favourite images as they pop up.

The Decks Have Arrived!

Good news everyone!
The 2017 edition Metropol NOX and LUX decks arrived at my office today! But wait, there's more! I've already shipped a number of orders before the post office closed today, so some of the decks are already on their way to their final destination.
I'm so happy to finally be sending these out to all of you. Thank you for your patience and support. :D
While waitng for the decks to be delivered, my wife and I celebrated a delivery of our own, our firstborn child! Our daughter was born on February 8, which coincidentally was the original delivery date for the cards. The cards arrived today, February 14, which was the original due date for our new baby. Kinda funny how that worked out. Originally I was hoping the cards would arrive before the baby so that I could get the orders packed up and shipped out without any distraction. This shouldn't impact order fulfillment in any way though since I'm now taking time off work to take care of the family I'll be packing orders in my downtime and shipping them out on a daily basis.
Just a couple notes about fulfillment:
I'm packing these orders as fast as I can to get as many out as soon as possible. If your order qualifies for a tracking number, I may not send you the number as soon as the order ships. Once everything is in the mail I will make sure anyone who's order has a tracking number receives that number.
I expect to have all orders shipped by the start of next week if not sooner. I believe BackerKit will send a notification once I've marked an order as shipped which I will try to keep up-to-date on a daily basis.
After I finish shipping everyone's order I will be closing the pre-order page on BackerKit. After a quick inventory check I'll put any remaining decks for sale on my website (www.metropolcards.com).

And since today is Valentine's Day I'd like to share the love and shout out to a Kickstarter project that just went live a couple days ago. Created by a friend of mine, SCRAMBO is a lightning-fast dice game that tests your speed, knowledge, and nerves.
Next update will have more photos (including the LUX decks when I crack open one of those cases)
